Seven years after the 2019 series finale of HBO's flagship fantasy drama, Daenerys Targaryen is returning to the franchise through Zynga's licensed mobile game, Game of Thrones: Legends. Rather than an on-screen resurrection or television sequel, the character is being featured in two separate in-game promotions during November 2026: "The Old Raven" summon and the "Robb's War" event, according to the Zynga / Game of Thrones: Legends official site.

Recent coverage of the franchise update has framed the mobile release in different ways. While Collider characterized the update as a "grand return" for the character seven years after her controversial Season 8 death, Tbreak Media UAE pointed out that the promotion is strictly for a free-to-play mobile puzzle and strategy game, with no indication of new filmed scenes or involvement from actress Emilia Clarke.

Two Distinct In-Game Promotions

Players looking to add the Targaryen ruler to their rosters will encounter two different iterations of the character across overlapping November schedules, as detailed by the Zynga / Game of Thrones: Legends official site.

The first promotion, a month-long summon titled "The Old Raven," opens on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 4 a.m. ET and runs until Wednesday, December 2, 2026, at 2 a.m. ET. This summon features six Legendary Champions: Daenerys Targaryen (Mother Of Dragons), Maester Aemon, Benjen Stark, Samwell Tarly, Rhaenyra Targaryen (The Black Queen), and Grey Worm. Participating in "The Old Raven" summon requires players to use in-game exalted tokens, according to Screen Rant.

A second, shorter event called "Robb's War" will run from Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 4 a.m. ET through Monday, November 9, 2026, at 2 a.m. ET. Its corresponding summon window opens slightly earlier on November 5 at 1 a.m. ET and closes on November 9 at 2 p.m. ET. This rotation features four Legendary Champions: Daenerys Targaryen (Conqueror of Qarth), Robb Stark, Daemon Targaryen, and Olenna Tyrell. Tbreak Media UAE notes that unlocking any of these characters relies on chance-based draws and collecting Summoning Shards through gameplay, random drops, or microtransactions.

Additional November Game Events

Beyond the two Daenerys Targaryen promotions, Zynga's November 2026 schedule outlines several major rotations drawing from both the original series and House of the Dragon:

  • Kingsroad and Goldroad (November 9 at 3 a.m. ET to December 7 at 2 a.m. ET): Players can complete daily and weekly quests to earn rewards, while the paid Goldroad Pass offers shards for Tywin Lannister. A concurrent player-versus-player reward tier running from November 9 at 2 p.m. ET to December 6 at 2 p.m. ET distributes Mance Rayder shards.
  • Battle of the Bastards Quest Event (November 12 at 4 a.m. ET to November 16 at 2 a.m. ET): Accompanied by the Winterfell Summon (1 a.m. ET November 12 to 2 p.m. ET November 16), featuring Jon Snow (Battle of the Bastards), Tywin Lannister, Tyland Lannister, and Brienne of Tarth.
  • House of the Dragon Quest Event (November 19 at 4 a.m. ET to November 23 at 2 a.m. ET): Paired with a summon window (1 a.m. ET November 19 to 2 p.m. ET November 23) highlighting Rhaenyra Targaryen, Viserys I Targaryen, Tyland Lannister, and Olenna Tyrell.
  • Battle of Blackwater Bay Event (November 26 at 4 a.m. ET to November 30 at 2 a.m. ET): Alongside the Blackwater Summon (1 a.m. ET November 26 to 2 p.m. ET November 30), offering Davos Seaworth (Hand of Stannis), Viserys I Targaryen, Daemon Targaryen, and The Night King.

Additionally, Tbreak Media UAE reports that iconic in-game items for Cersei Lannister (Queen of the Andals and the First Men) will be added on November 11, followed by items for Sansa Stark (Lady of Winterfell) on November 25.

Broader Franchise Context on HBO and in Theaters

The focus on classic characters within the mobile gaming space comes during an active period for the wider television and film franchise. Because HBO's current live-action spin-offs are prequels set generations before the original series, characters from the flagship show cannot naturally appear in them, according to Collider.

In January 2026, HBO launched the first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which remained in the HBO Max top 10 for months. While Collider states that the show's second season is confirmed to return, Screen Rant reports that the next season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is arriving in 2027. Meanwhile, the third season of House of the Dragon aired in the summer of 2026; HBO has confirmed the prequel will conclude with its fourth season, which is scheduled to film in 2027 for a 2028 release.

On the theatrical side, Warner Bros. recently set a June 1, 2029 release date for a Game of Thrones feature film centered on Aegon's Conquest, with Owen Harris attached to direct, according to Collider. Although industry discussions have occasionally surfaced regarding potential projects featuring original series characters like Jon Snow and Arya Stark, nothing concrete has been announced by the network.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the exact dates and times for Robb's War and The Old Raven?
